As i had the Yamato allready sitting on its own for about a year now and no inspiration was coming in, i decided to make it a centerpiece in a bigger scene therefore i needed to extend the current water base .The new dio will comprise from at least the following ships ,Yamato,Yamashiro or Fuso, Takao ,a submarine and the hospital ship Hikawamaru and possibly if i can squeeze in a small destroyer or light cruiser ,in the beginning of the war .lets say around '41 in a rather fictional but may well be feasible scene were sailors of the fleet are due to be vaccinated or treated in one way or another before the fleet embark to operations. So far it looks like a mess, but i am confident that it will look very nice once (and if ever!) is finished. It is imperative that the extension of the base works well ie the extra pieces stuck really well to each other so once the white glue is dry i am planning to add an entire sheet of Plexiglas underneath the base which will cover the whole surface of it and glue it on it with epoxy as well.

Looks like a good idea, you think you'll be able to match the 'water' on the new boards to that around the Yamato without to much trouble?

The idea is to apply a new thin layer on top of everything including that bit around Yamato.Theres no way matching that tone now ,i don't even remember what i have used in the first place to make it.
