 Post subject: TAIYO/YAWATAMARU

A small project depicting the same ship as before and after on the same base.Had to scribe the carrier deck but apart from that not much more scrach building except a few small details on the side of the ship.Keeping the whole project on the simple side trying not to get drawn into small details too much.

that's some idea there Angeleyes!! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: , I've always wanted to do something like this with Nagato, unfortunately the 1931 version of her is not cheap but I still haven't been able to get it out of my head. one of these days I might break that piggy bank I got and :lol_pound: well .... do it.

i had to scribe it first as it is completely void of any hint of "planking" representation on the deck for some reason.After that i used a variety of Tamiya acrylics to paint the planks individually and at a random pattern as much as possible.Each time i paint a few planks with one base color of either deck tan xf-55,buff xf-57desert yellow xf-59 or J.A grey xf-14 all toned down with a healthy doze of light grey xf-66 to give them this tired and used color that the wood gets once exposed and subjected to a lot of use.At the end at least one wash of Vandyke Brown oil to add a more deeper feeling and to create the shading.
