I started work on the Bonny Dick and used Gordon Bjorklund's technique for masking the tie down strips. I used an intermediate blue spray to give it a darker look than the flight deck stain 21 will be. I am excited to see the results and I hope this will give the same results that Gordon got. There is one bad thing though. This is my 4th Essex Class Carrier, 20 to go and the technique is a wee bit time consumming!

Thanks Nektarios and John. :wave_1:

Here is the deck sprayed with Flight Deck Stain 21. I have most of the hull detail done and it is time to start the isalnd now. I am not leaning towards PE railings on my Essex Class Carriers. There would be just to much and I kind of like them out of the box. The DML kits are really good and I like the radar PE they provide.

I have the DML Randolph under construction now. I am doing her with the 6 color MS-32-17a scheme. I am on the road this week so It will take a bit to complete.
