I will try to do real quickbuild on this ship - no fear, no care, no special effort. Just add some details and finish Graf Spee ASAP - this is the task! 0,25mm evergreen strip will help with deck fit Attachment: 150mm guns need to be slightly repositioned (about 0,5mm) Attachment: 280mm gun turrets with Master (Poland) brass barrels Attachment: initial assembly of Turmmast with WEM searchlight platform Attachment:

Looks great, what size is the chain ? (links per inch) will you be using the PE mast ? |

David, You're one of my favorite modelers.... I always enjoy your work. This is a really nice tutorial so far. When you go to paint the superstructure, I'd really like to see some pictures of how you do that given that you've already painted the decks. Chris |

... and now painting - I am using several different approaches, but for Graf Spee I used method "railings first and then painting". So I glued railings (Flyhawk this time) everywhere and then I masked all decks by small squares and oblongs from Tamiya masking tape. It is boring work, but you cannot do mistake. And then I airbrushed light gray for superstructures and dark gray for hull. Attachment: And here is result: Attachment: Attachment:

I forgot to answer to aleccap: Chain - I do not know, how many links per inch, I am not familiar with feet and inches ![]() Masts - all masts will be from brass rods. Plus I add some PE parts, of course. |

Gorgeous work. At first I thought the photo of the forward superstructure was a CAD drawing. |

Nice photography.A sector often overlooked by many regular posters on this and other modeling forums. Excellent painting and subtle washes. P.S I noticed you are using a cigarette in many of your shots ,the same way i am using a BIC lighter to give an idea of the model size. Are we passing out the wrong message to our audience ![]() |

Very nice work. Spee is one of the few German ships I have an interest in building someday. |

Thank you guys! Unfortunately Graf Spee and other projects consumes a lot of time, so I did not tell you, how I like Angeleyes weathering on Nelson hull, how I like waves on Rui's submarine or how I like Moelders work on 1/72 torpedoboot... Excuse me! Today evening I will add more ![]() |

Promised progress on Graf Spee. I started to equip hull step by step. The funnel will be attchached after small boats in order to keep open space for easy placement of boats. Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment:
