I vaguely recall seeing a book, published about 6-7 years ago, about a recent, diseasterous around the world yacht race in which seveal yachts were lost and seasoned sailors died. Anyone know the title?

I am not sure, but I think the race was Sidney-Hobart in 1998. If you search along this line you may find something.

Cheers.

Maybe you're thinking of the Fastnet race? If you try Fastnet as a keyword in the title field, perhaps you'll be able to zero in on it?
