If it's at all in the league of "La Mimetizazzione...." then it is sure to be a keeper. Tuttostoria is an excellent dealer, as well (first-hand knowledge, here) :thumbs_up_1:

Does sound great, I've bought books from them and used their mail in form. Just ask for a catalog via e their email address. I mailed in their catalog order form and get my books very quickly and trouble free. They are a very good company :thumbs_up_1: .
Now, when will we see some similar books on Italian Destroyers, Torpedo Boats and Escorts??
Don't get me wrong, I love the Battleships, but it was the Italian small ships that were at sea and in action day in and day out escorting the convoys. I have several of the 'Navi italiane della 2a guerra mondiale-nuova serie' such as CLASSE SOLDATI. But these books have alway been so hard to obtain from any source. I missed getting a number of the series such as the NAVIGATORI class. Would like to see a large volume covering all the Destroyer classes and Escort types. :cool_1:

I've ordered mine by email, and can't wait to receive it! They're always very helpful and prompt with my orders. Now, just waiting for the big surprise on my credit card statement when considering the weak dollar and overseas shipping. :( :(

Minireview after flipping through the book: if you are remotely interested in these ships, I'd say this is a volume well-worth its high price and it should have "buy on sight" status. If you have Bruce Taylors "HMS Hood" volume, you know what to expect from this book plus that this book is half an "Anatomy of a ship" series volume as well. You'll be sorry if this book runs out of print and you missed the boat. Many excellent pictures printed in high quality. A few camouflage scemes and detailed drawings are also given, plus numerous well-drawn 3D views and schematics of the ship including the differences between the individual units. As a modeling companion it succeeds admirably. Can't comment on the text. For the scratchbuilder, the smaller details are missing, so it's not really "Anatomy of the ship" material but well on its way. It misses too many drawings of the smaller boats and artillery pieces and so forth to quality as a single reference. But, I doubt that was the intention of the authors. Highly recommended

adding to Foeths mini review:

The photographic material leans heavily towards Vittorio Veneto and Littorio-- as Roma builder I can tell the difference!

That said there are some very nice photos I have never seen----some of which are very enlightening--even for a Roma biased builder!

Great book--the italian text is usable using an OCR program--I have been reading the salient portions thereof...

Good stuff

I ordered my copy on the very slick new website of Avions & Bateaux at http://www.avions-bateaux.com/. 60 Euros + p&p, payable with a credit card on a secure server.

I also took the opportunity to buy some more hard to find books. They even have Gakken and other Japanese books.

Well worth a visit.
