Hi

I am looking for drawings of the Ivan Susanin class of armed icebreaker. Failing that I might be able use a set of drawings of the Dobrinya Nikitich class and modify them from photos. My aim is to build one of the vessels still in service with the Border Guard in 1/700 scale.

I understand that there was an issue of the Russian language publication Morskaya Collektsia devoted to naval icebreakers (from 2009 perhaps?) and would like to know if anyone knows whether that contained drawings of these classes. Better still, I would be keen to buy a copy.

Thanks

Don

Look thru here. They may have something. Service has been good the two times I've ordered from them

Unfortunately I have read this only today. I have that volume. Of the Project 97P is only a profile drawing included - no drawing of her deck layout. Better drawings are included of the Project 97 and Project 97H (Otto Schmidt, research icebreaker variant).

Here some photos of a Project 97E:

Okręty Wojenne Nr 4/2011 (108) contains a small side view and a deck view of the Project 97P (plus one of the Project 97B, one of the research icebreaker variants).

Contact me via PM or e-mail (lars AT modellmarine POINT de).

Sorry I have seen this so late as well, I don't really visit this part of the board too much.

Here is an old topic on the matter. I'm sure there are some pics of the ship you want to model as well. Seems to contain some frame drawing too, but I'm not sure of its accuracy.

Many thanks Neptune - an excellent link. I had planned to just do an Ivan Susanin class, but with such good references I can feel a civilian version coming on as well. Timing is good too as I am still at the planning stage for the model.

Best wishes

Don

I've been going through these topics in the past for a bigger project of my own. Yet I don't remember if the following topic has much regarding this class. Anyway you could try (don't have time right now), it's 69 pages of Russian ice breaker pics.
