Hello, I know absolutely nothing about ship models. My Grandpa was interested in the hobby. He gave our family some of his old stuff and I came across some old Ship plans. The largest plan is titled HMS Kashmir Destroyer 1936 programme " J,k&N" class. at the bottom of the floor plan has the name David Macgregor plans copyright 1967. Its obvious that its pretty old but the plan is still in excellent condition for its age. I have a few others but before I list all them I just would like to know if these are worth anything? Do these plans hold any value since they are so old? Thanks in advanced for any information.

Plans never go out of date. So long as they're in good condition and accurate (!) they'll have value.

It also depends on what type of plans they are: general plans, detailed engineering plans, or plans aimed towards modellers. I just bought a basic set of modellers' plans for a battleship: each sheet is 50" x 33" and the three-sheet set cost me £16.

If you can take some photos and post them here. That will help us determine what sort of plans they are. Try and find what scale they are, it should be printed somewhere probably along and edge. If they don't have one then measure the paper itself and a ballpark scale can be determined. Plans are usually in a few set scales. Are they all Royal Navy and/or all the same time period or do they vary?

I'd be interested in seeing what plans you have, so please list them . I am familiar with Macgregor's format so I know what the scales would be. Which ships is all I need to know and then I can make you an offer.

Kind Regards
