A fine book on the last French pre-dreadnoughts of the 1900 programme :
Patrie, République, Démocratie, Justice, Liberté and Vérité

These six 15,000t battleships are widely covered (French text and many rare photographs) both technically and operationally. 176 pages, many B&W pictures, maps, sketches and a full set of official plans (from the CAA).
Annexes cover in detail the loss of Liberté (magazine explosion) with pictures and damage plan from the archives.
WWI operations in the Adriatic, Aegean and Dardanelles are also covered.

A must for all French ships lovers. For those non reading French, pictures and plans will speak for themselves.

Will there be an accompanying volume on the 6 Danton class semi-dreadnoughts (I always say you can never too many funnels) I wonder? How about the Iéna, Suffren, Masséna & Carnot?

Best, Terry (Caravellarella).
