Hey guys. I'm the new here! And i already come around with a special request.

Anyone know where i can find good plans for the french WW2 destroyer classe Le Fantasque (Malin) and Chacal (Jaguar) ?

Digital would be best, But but books (even french ones) are acceptable.
it would be great if the source also got detailed plans on the armament.

Thanks in advance!

Dreadnought Project has rehostedthe now-unavailable French archives version of the Chacal (1923-1940) plans here: http://dreadnoughtproject.org/French%20 ... acal_1923/

Alas, they didn't get to saving the ones for Fantasque (if the French had posted them in the first place).

Les CT de 2400 tonnes du type Jaguar is a very useful book, I would recommend it. Les C.T. de 2800 tonnes du type Le Fantasque is also very good, but include only the history and modifications to 1942. Perhaps a second volume was planed, but only a small booklet was released with the title Histoire des croiseurs légers (1943-1964).

They include many plans, some of them are the original plans as already offered here by some. The drawings with the modifications are similar to the one in French Destroyers: Torpilleurs d'Escadre and Contre-Torpilleurs,1922-1956, which is also interesting regarding modifications of the ships - but not as detailed as the two French books.

Some helpful information regarding modifications (including World War 2 modifications) of the four surviving ships of the Le Fantasque class plus Léopard and Tigre of the Jaguar class can be found in Les escorteurs francais de l'après-guerre. Tome I: les rescapés du programme naval. Navires & Histoire Hors-série N° 04.
