Does anybody know of a source for plans of british screw sloops from c. 1880 - 1900 like HMS Nymphe?
There are small plans (but no deck plans) in Conways, plus I found some old french plan of HMS Buzzard but nothing else.
Thanks a lot!
C.

Hi Christian,
besides the plan of Buzzard you already mentioned I found only one of HMS Phoenix (1894) in Sail & Steam Navy List. It includes good hull lines, but only a profile view, no deck plans.

I had thought about building HMS Odin in 1914 - but I have not searched a lot.

Cheers,
Lars

Thanks Maxim!
I'll see what I can do, maybe what I have is fully sufficient.
Greets!

Hi Christian, I do not know how far pre-1900 you want to go but drawings of both the the Cordelia (1856) and Cruizer (1852) classes can be found by searching the NMM plans site for Pantaloon and Alert respectively.

Strange, I cannot find both.

Did you search here?

Thanks Pieter!
My main interest is ships between 1870 - 1905.
Slowly but steadily I am amassing a good stack of plans for sloops. Everything from the smallest bit adds to it as I am building real small stuff in 1/6000 scale.
Cheers!
C.

And yes, this is a legit source. The NMM is part of the culturepics project.

Thank you!

Is there really the only way to search via the date?

Ship name + culturepics in google image search sometimes works. I tend to add + culturepics searches in any subject I'm working on.

Thank you!

Yesterday I found HMS Alert and HMS Discovery (the ships of Nares' 1875-1876 polar expedition) - the plans were not even labelled.
