The official French Navy website with their large collection of original plans is back after a 14 months shut-down (due to attacks and site major upgrade).
http://www.servicehistorique.sga.defens ... entral.php

Enjoy!

Helo Petros,

Unfortunately, it was another "hacker attack" at february 2013 and since this time, the website is not available.
It's "bien dommage" !!!

I'm afraid the situation is getting worse ever...
Since the French government is reducing the country's overall deficit, the coming defense budget will shrink as well, but to keep as many money as possible for the armed forces, the "non-fighting" services will suffer...
The Archives website will NOT be re-opened, at last for the coming years.
Service will be still available locally, but at an expense and with more delay due to reduced personnel... I'm afraid this is the end of the free offering.
I've learn of rumors of the Culture ministry willing to take in charge all the historic archives, including military, but this is only a rumor... and this ministry will have his budget reduced too... hard times...

_Bruno
