I've been waiting for that as well, but still not listed as available on US Amazon. Very strange "roll-out", there must have been some production problems or printing delays. Can't wait to get a copy!
Best,
Ted

The book arrived this morning oh yes!!!

It has full colour artwork about 2 pages of rare colour photographs taken of HOOD most of which I've never seen before in print or on the internet. They were mostly taken in 1939/1940 by a crew member!!!

The only area I though that isnt covered in great depth is the ships sinking and also it's recent discovery underwater, but the whole of this proud ships career and technical details are covered very well. It doesnt have the kind of detailed line drawings that Burt, Raven or Roberts or the AOTS book has but the colour artwork I thought is very well done. The centre piece being a large 4 page fold out colour artwork showing HOOD as per 1941 similar to the one in the Warship Profile Magazine.

I would definately say though this book is worth getting!!! Just think how much it could be worth as soon as out-of-print!!!! lol!!!

I'll add it to my British Battleships/Battlecruisers reference list once I've found time!!!

All the best
Regards

There's footage included from a very very rare color film, which is in private hands. I'm particularly forward to seeing those pics, building a late HMS Hood. Any material around 1940 is very rare, as you'll soon find out when building a model. I hope the footage will asnwer a few questions I have.

The CG renderings are very "nice" but not very accurate for modeling.

Mine also arrived but doesn't fit in the mail box... so it's at the post office.

Aargh, I just couldn't wait any longer, and ordered one from Amazon.co.uk. When you consider the terrible exchange rate and overseas Airmail, it will cost quite a lot! Delivery date is the first week in March - I hope that really is the case.

Same here - I ordered it from Amazon UK. They tell me it's £33.19 including shipping to central 'Joisey which sounds resonable to me. Yes, I know the exchange rate is bloody awful so if any of you wiseguys convert this into US dollars and post the amount here then I will track you down and force you to built the Lindberg 1:400 Hood "model" complete with photoetch just to get even.

When my wife asks how much it costs, I'll say something like "Oh, it cost 33... (mumble)" so she thinks that's dollars.
