Has anyone read this new book:
No Higher Honor Saving the USS Samuel B. Roberts in the Persian Gulf

It came out last month and describes the SBR hitting an Iranian mine in the Persian Gulf in 1988.
I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the modern USN. I'm about halfway thru the book so far. Most of the first half of the book is about the building of the FFG and training of its first crew. It also discusses the Tanker War and operations leading to the mine strike.
The second half of the book (the part I haven't read yet) is about the aftermath of the mine explosion including Operation Praying Mantis (the retaliation against Iran for the mining).
