This is the Very Fire kit of the USS Atlanta (1/350) ,converted to represent the USS San Diego 1944. I used Black Cat 40mm and 20mm ,and had the Profile Morskie booklet and plans to work from. When I finished there were 7 complete sprue left over ,very useful for my spares locker! All in all it was an excellent kit to build .I can recommend it. Since building this I have learnt that VF will releasing a San Diego kit.

Regards Phil

Very nice, Phil! Could you share some of your secrets in building a late war San Diego from an early Atlanta?

To save Phil the trouble of typing everything out, there is discussion of the changes necessary in the CASF thread here: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=23563&start=320#p1017331

Phil,

How did you like the Black Cat 20 & 40mm? I could'nt zoom in close enough. My shipment of those just came in yesterday but I havent given them the once-over yet.

She looks crisp & clean, nice job.

Paul

That's a great build!

How long did it take to build it? I believe this kit came out only recently, or am I wrong?

Thanks to all,I think Black Cat items are marvellous ,they really capture the look of the things. The model took about about four weeks to build,I would not have been able to do without the Profile Morskie book.

Regard Phil
