As my debut on this forum I would like to show pictures of my USS Yorktown Ticonderoga Class Cruiser to you.
It's the DML/CyberHobby 1/350 scale kit.
I used WEM etched parts, WEM colors and WEM RHIB'S, from Veteran Models the CIWS, SH-60 Seahawk and 5" Mk45 Turrets pimped with Master barrels. The crewmen are from Tamiya. A lot of scratchbuilding was made, especially on the bow at the bulwark.
I think it came out nicely - what do you think?

I concur wholeheartedly sir :thumbs_up_1:

May I ask whose plans those are in the background?

Came out Excellent. It's an old kit and i know it has a lot of fit issues. From what i see you did it right. :thumbs_up_1:

Great build!

Nonetheless, I look forward to the day when this ship is decommissioned and the name is given to a new CVN.

Considering she's been stricken since 2004, the name is available right? Convincing the Navy to stop naming ships after politicians is the impossible part of the task. Sad to see she's scheduled for target practice... Thought one of the original five was being retained for a museum?

Having built the Vicksburg, I know the hardships of this kit.
You've done the Yorktown proud.

Wow - nice build mcfrag0815! I just finished my build of the same kit and it took a lot of work and modifications/scratch to get a more accurate and detailed result. I referred to your posts and your build log to help me along - talk about timely, too! Great job! oh, did you build the Alfa class SSN also? If so post some pics. Thanks for sharing and happy modeling!
Mark

I am hopeful to get a reply. can you please tell me who created this and if there is a way to get one made as a 30” version? this seems high quality. Also where did the blueprints come from. Thank you.
