since this is my very first post ever since I join this forum I'll be doing a bit of introducing myself here.

I'm Strik3agle98 I'm 18 years old and have been building a model since 10(my very first one is a disaster xD) I've been using this site as a reference for my ship modelling for almost a year now so I think I might as well share what I've been doing.

enough with the introducing myself here come the main topic

I'm building USS Ticonderoga CV-14 as she appeared on 6 November 1944 when she launch a strike against japanese shipping near Luzon and what's installed on the island.

I'm currently working on a hangar deck.
I use tamiya paint for all paint job

It's my first time ever to try mimic the shell plating. I mask an area with masking tape and spray the rest with a surface primer.
I use XF-19 as a substitute for LightGrey 5-L

The bow section. I mix 5 part of XF-50 with 2 part of XF-2 as a substitute for DeckBlue 20-B

I paint Hangar deck interior with Insignia White(10 part of XF-2 and a part of XF-55)
and paint an elevator well with Sea Blue XF-19 as a substitute for NavyBlue 5-N but it look a bit odd to my eye. should I mix it with some other paint??

Since this is also my first time using photo etch I can't contain my excitement and build the bofors

As far as first posts go, that's the way to do it!

Welcome aboard!

Love the shell plating. Very convincing and realistic. Looking forward to seeing more!

ยอดเยี่ยม! โมเดลของคุณดูน่าเกรงขาม

Thanks!! I really appreciate it especially from the man who create the Yorktown CV-10 thread that I can find a ton of reference there especially on doing shell plating!!

I've done some extensive repaint and, the mix and some other progress involving some putty work(which will get me busy sanding them tomorrow).
