I built this in couple of days as a project to relief stress from my more ambitious 1/700 builds. I am very happy with how it came out and it prompted me to order a Type VII next with PE set so next boat will have railings proper. This one has the crude plastic ones.

Modifications:
1) Replaced periscopes with brass tubing, scratch built and filed down at the top
2) Rigging (barely visible, but it is there!) using Caenis fishing line
3) washed with oil paints, coated with flat clear

Camouflage is basic, dark grey hull and light gray upper hull with dark gray deck. I used light salt streaking and bleaching to lighten the hull color. Still an experiment for me but it will suit my German navy collection side nicely.

Kit: HobbyBoss
Scale: 1/700

File comment: Slotted on the bow of Bismarck in the same 1/700 scale to give you an idea of how tiny this thing is.

Very nice! If you want REALLY good Type Vll Uboats try the Flyhawk ones. 2 per kit with all necessary PE (as usual with Flyhawk). And you can get them for as little as 5.99 from Freetime.
(NOT SHILLING!)

Ordered actually for next! I want the railings to be in scale and I think HObbyBoss actually did a good job on it, especially modelling the deck. Thanks!
