Hello. I show you some photos about my new work: the JMSDF Murasame destroyer, 1/350 from Trumpeter. An excellent kit, with many extra pieces, like railings, cooling vents, safety nets and anchor chains. I've added a complete PE Set of Lion Roar, which includes many resin pieces (boats, satellite communication domes, CIWS Phalanx and metal barrels).

But i had a problem with the decal set, which came failed. The hull levels and numerals came opaques and that was very disappointing for me. I Tried to solve this problem using lacquer.

The whole model is painting with enamels and varnished using satincote. I've added a resin helicopter, signal flags and rigging using invisible nylon thread.

Hope you enjoy it! :thumbs_up_1:

Hello Ayala Botto. In this case, i've used Humbrol 126 for hull and superstructures, Humbrol 125 for deck and Humbrol 60+Model Master British Crimson for lower hull in 60/40 proportion. I went online and did a search for images from Murasame in 2013, after that i tried to found the equivalences in enamels.

Regards

Victor

Beautiful build! Love the life-rings!

Was the Lion Roar set necessary? or can I just build from the P.E in the box?

Hello:

In my opinion, you are free for build you model as you want. But personally, i always try to achieve better results.

The box cotains a PE Set which including railings and cooling vents. Nothing more.

Mast details, life boat racks, resin pieces, antennas and decals are including wich the Lion Roar set. I think you can build the kit using the elements in the box, but the model will look poor in details. Ladders for example are not includes, the same with the protection in the front of the bridge. The resin whaleboats are, in my opinion, necessary for this model, because those which came in the box are poor and not accurates.

I recommend the Lion Roar set, is excellent for better resuts. I´ll bought a same set for the JMSDF DDG- 177 Atago.

Regards.
Victor
