A belated Happy Easter to all!

Here's my "out-of-the-box" build of the Aoshima 1/700 Hermes kit (Striking Richielieu/Dakar version), which I chose to build as the 1942 version. Comparing the various Aoshima kits made me realize there were just a few minor differences between the Dakar and two Indian Ocean versions of this ship.

I used Raven's Warship Perspectives: Royal Navy Warship Camouflage 1939-41 as a reference to recreate the paint scheme.

I used Tamiya's TS-81 and XF-80 (both RN light grey) to simulate AP507C, while I used Testors/Modelmasters's version of AP507B. For AP 507A, I used Tamiya's XF/Dark Grey, while for the Swordfish, I used Tamiya's RAF Dark Green 2 (XF-81), Sky Grey (XF-19) and Testors/Modelmasters' Ocean Grey. For the flight deck, I used Tamiya's Black Green and the spray version (AS-2).

I also added a Tamiya HMAS Vampire as an escort for this photo shoot, since both ships were together when they were sunk just off Ceylon.

Very nice model! :thumbs_up_1:

I am working on a HMS Hermes, but the Flyhawk kit. I wanted to get the Aoshima kit to see the differences.
