A long time ago I built the IJN Chokai. A Aoshima kit (WLC005) that was built out the box. I have rebuilt other ships but when I started this, I saw that it was not the Ckokai although it seems. The instructions and the kit are the Takao with the superstructure of the Chokai.

After ordering several opinions (Thanks Dan K), I have tried to rebuild. I have used photoetched from SS-models (very simple), generic handrails, and other small details. .Main weapons with needles and some antiaircraft weapons from photoetched (I didn't like too much). The main superstructure is completely rebuilt and the masts also.
The paints used have been HU-123 (FS36118) and HU-186 for the deck.
The sea base is made following the method of Frank Sparh.
Chains with copper thread and wiring with Uni Caenis.

Thank you for your kind words. It really has been a complex reconstruction and I wish I had improved it somewhat more.
