finished the railings of back castle finished bow railings...and added some of the railing left overs to make radar look better
For info and might help inspire other...radar was made ;
1. heller railings limed to half their thicknes...cutting sides so spaces between bars get bigger ( 2 large and 2 high).
2. PE railing bars

I will paint PE off course in black...but unpainted...easier to see

I keep all left overs or cut off pieces for...well scratch build

I'm searching whole web to find a gun plan display of the 50' modification...not what guns....I have...but where on the schip...if anybody has...would appreciate.

all the pictures I found of her ... you don't see minor AA guns like the 37/57 or the 20/65....

From 1948–1950, Marceau underwent a major refit, in which the forward 10.5 cm gun was replaced by a 15.0 cm gun, the ship's anti-aircraft outfit changed to eight Bofors 40 mm guns and US radar was fitted.

yes I have...I think I've seen and copied all pics just not a deck layout after modification

I'm waiting for the single 40mm AA guns from arsenal and also their railings to finish her....and ....well...i'll just place the secondary AA guns as best as logic goes
She will be pretty much as good as I can to her French modified state.

haven't seen many ...haven't seen any on the web having done the modification of the bridge ..or even the 40mm guns so...

I'm happy to have done so...kind of unique...

as it is also my first real go at a higher standart of modelling..(major modifications, PE railings).I learned a lot of it witch is to me the best part
I have many ships to come lol

If I would do her again...I'd even lime of the front AA gun boards and put PE railings...they are too heavy...but I suppose...the more you do and have done...the more you wanna improove...there is a moment you must say...it will do.
but hey...she's not finished yet...a new challenge to come...the aireal lines....

Triumph68, it all depends on whether Marceau actually had the 20mm guns installed or not. if installed then most likely mounted on the aft structure between the 150mm gun mounts 2 & 3.

I wouldn't do any more work around the platforms that the singles 40mm guns are to be located til you get those guns to make certain those guns with their shields would fit correctly on the platforms.

so now there are 2 options...or lime away gun protection of heller kit....or modify arcenal gun platform in order to fit in
...probably gonna be first option

take the gun tub walls out too as yours is to thick so as to give more room as they are not there in your last attachment. the l'arsenal gun shield is the wrong version & shape for use with a single 40mm gun.

so...I decided I'd make modification on the arsenal guns...actualy..on the metal part...reducing the gun base

David...you'd take the full side pannels of and narow a tiny bid the front?(and bottom ...of course)

ok...will do it over some more...got nothing to loose...well...that is..not much..1 arsenal gun lol

the gun shield has no sides as the shield face is swept back in the middle like a somewhat flattened "V". look at your 2nd last picture that shows the 4 single gun mounts in front of the bridge.
