Another little project done last year that didn't have a thread, so only completed pics here.
This is a detailed kit from Flyhawk of USS Ward, a Wickes class destroyer in WW2 fit. It comes with a small fret of PE, including the stand. Id rank it 9.5/10 (it lacks some PE parts like boat davits and funnel cages, but otherwise great).

Changes:
- I shaved off some hull plating details and scuttles which were way out of scale. I think it makes the small ship feel a bit more correct in size.
- masts were replaced with scratch built brass ones, plus I added the radar-crows next looking thing on the mast, which isnt spot on, but in this scale close enough at distance.
- ship is weathered and sort of supposed to be dark gray color of Pearl Harbour station, light makes it look bluer than it is though.
- funnel cages are made with brass wire, I removed the kit's plastic caps as they really didnt fit well ( just like boat davits but those I left from kit)
- rigging with tungsten wire (0.06) - by Modelkasten

An enjoyable little build and highly recommended!
