I know, I still have to add the rigging but, being that is not my favourite aspect of the build, it will have to wait until I'm in the mood.

Beautiful model, masterfully done! I have 1:200 Trumpeter still in box and it's a few months away from starting (65 y/o, retiring in May). I might purchase pre cut plate glass for this model display case just like I did for my Bismarck and Rodney (1:200) but I purchased the glass after the build was complete. I can do it before the build to save money. Do you have a overall full hull height for this build?
Model info states height and width but no height for half or full hull.
Thank You!
Philip Baney

Philip,
Sorry for the late reply. I had a case made out of clear acrylic by a local company (cost about Can$160.00 for the acrylic box). For the base, I used a piece of 9.25 x .75 x 54 inches stained clear pine, half inch by half inch stained balsa blocks for under the hull and the acrylic case fits over the model and base having an overall height of 14 inches. These dimensions provide adequate clearance all around (not that I'm expecting any movement). The overall package is quite heavy, however, I suspect it is lighter than a plate glass case variety. As you can see in the attached, I had a similar case for my 1/200 Bismarck.
