Hello,

the model in was created from the high-quality kit by Niko Model in 1/700 and represents the NJL Togo in the construction state around 1943. With a total of about 156 parts of resin and an extensive photonetchedparts already a major project, which required a careful construction planning.

The kit is well detailed and can also be built well. However, not without some elaborate rework. There was very little filling on the hull itself. The situation was quite different with the two-part bridge complex. Between the upper and lower part of the bridge, there was a gap that had to be filled and sanded without damaging details. The two photo-etched parts, which close the connection between the command bridge and the ship's wall, also had to be adapted, bent over at the front and glued, filled and sanded with the resin component. These construction steps were a bit complex and required control paint finishes, before finally the final painting could be started.

A kit in the kit presented the so-called Würzburg giant, enlarged form of FuMG 62 Würzburg. A total of 42 parts were to be processed. For the outer ring of the radar screen I used different drills as a bending aid. The ring is made of nickel silver and, unlike brass, always wanted to return to its original shape during the bending process. Here I could counteract by glowing the material.

The surface of the water was made of cut and painted with a dark blue tone sea foil from factory Noch, which has a still acceptable, realistic wave structure for the scale 1/700. The water surface was coated with gloss varnish.

Very nice and interesting build, congratulations!
Can you please enlarge a bit about the foil you used for the seascape?

Thanks, Vladi
