My friend's dad passaway before he seen her finished. I'll contact the Hornet Museums about her and see if they take her in.She will be put in Cellclay on Sunday with the deckcrew. Finish photos on Sunday night.

Sorry to here that news mate, i hope the museum takes your FDR because it is a beauty and deserves to be seen, maybe a mention on the ships description as to who it was built for would be a good dedication and recognition for your friends dad.

Hi John, I talk to my friend he said he saw my posting and told me to dedicate the ship to all that serve aboard her. He also ask me don't metion his dad's name or his. I'll do what he ask of me. Will start backup on the Supers on the end of the month.

Red what matters is you finished it keep in mind there s no such thing as a perfect model and believe me you did a great job on this girl :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: . I'm sure your second scratchbuild model will be twice as better it's a real shame your friend's father never got to see it though.

Thanks everyone,yeah it's sad that old guy didn't see it finish. But thiers guy still around that was on board her when she first took the sea. I sent some photos to the FDR website,hope those squids and jarheads like what they see.As far as the Supercarriers I'm doing one at a time the FDR kick my butt. Ranger the first pick ,because I just like the Forrestal class. :wave_1:

A foam base painted over and furture wax. Will start back up on Ranger this weekend.

Now you'll have to start all over again and build her at the end of her career with the angled deck, would be a good comparison to see the two side by side...

The FDR was returned to me 30 mins ago. I was told don't ask,just keep it . Do yourself a favor ladies&gents, do not get into other family matters.
