Hello,

this class of light cruiser have always fascinated me. These kits are one of the first which are ralized in the early 90's from Naval Works and later from Mike Czibovic ( Corsair Armada ). Now Niko Models have realized some complete new kits of them.

Here i will show some of my Brooklynn class cruisers:

The first is my latest kit. It is not finished and up to now on my workbench.
It is the USS CL 43 Nashville. I have build this old (Naval Work kit ) with some improvments:

Best Regards
Chris

more pics of the nearly finished kit:

At last i will make a diorama which shows the USS Nashville at the moment as General McArthur comes aboard.

I believe he has use a PT boat? Is this correct ? and are there any other small ships with the Nashville there?

I hope someone can help me

Thanks and Best regards

Chris

Hi Chris, nice to see you working on my favorite class of cruiser.

Not sure what type of craft MacArthur used to board the Nashville. But he exited in a landing craft at Leyte. He used that as his flagship for quite some time, so he might have used all sorts of boats to travel to and from the shore. A PT-boat wouldn't be out of line, but most likely one of the launches. Probably the biggest and fanciest of them. Certainly one that matched his ego! :cool_1:

Hi Tmothy, thanks for your answer! :wave_1:

I have found one picture in the book " Kreuzer der US Navy" von Stefan Terzibaschitsch and at the Profile Morski No 78 book on site 3.
There you can see that a PT boat ( very dark painting) comes alongside of USS Nashville 24.10.1944.

Also i have found a picture at the USS Nashville site who General MacArthur leaves the Nashville. And this seems to me a landing craft to be , perhaps a Higgins boat(?).

Perhaps someone has more information?

Best regards
Chris
