OK here we go !

as I am waiting for some aerial spreaders to finish my Dunkerque (1/350), I will begin my Tribal class DD (1/350).

so I will also use black cat early set, various generic PE and leftovers, and some included PE.

I think to paint it 507a/b, but did not chose the exact ship for the moment (an early fit, however).

first thing, the bow :

so stifferners for upper part in place, and deck bent upwards at the right amount.

I will also have to slightly "square" the lower part of bow with some fine filing

So,

as putty recessed during weekend, I will wait a little more to achieve a better bow with putty a bit later.

as i just received my book, I will now check portholes as it seems to be some minor differences between kit and plans of 1938.

I see that crews galley need to be wider, so I add some plastic on the sides, and will drill portholes later.
crews galley needs to be wider because two stairs on the left and right side go down from the roof to the main deck, and those stairs normally are arriving on the side of funnel.
If I dont widen it, stairs will arrive just in front of funnel...

Trumpeter did also bad for rear of forecastle, as gangway goes inside, and doesnt abruply stop against a bulkhead (piece c6)
So I am preparing an "inside" construction.

something more relevant of what I mean :

the rear of the forecastle structure also needs some widening... and some porthole corrections.

rear structures during enlargement :

also note that Trumpeter missed the starboard incined ladder. so I added a hole through deck.

doors in place :

porholes in place, and note the widened rear of forecastle : it now includes a recess for inclined ladder to signal deck :

That's a lot of corrections. Too bad Trumpy couldn't be more accurate.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you !

yes there is a lot of small additions, corrections, and so on.
I will use various generic/leftover PE, IJN mushroom vents leftovers of previous models, because model doesn't include any of these? and so on...

forecastle base in place now. and crews galey roof nearly ready to receive some more hatches, sounding machine and oil bunker.
will also be in need of some old photoetch railing leftovers tailored at a matching size.

as my book is specifically dedicated to Cossack, I will opt for this one because it seems some minor items like deck lockers were specific to each member of class.

so it will be 1940 in dark HFG 507a/b, with white pennant number to add some eyecatching.

It seems that the safest choice for semtex color would be a "dry asphalt" color for this period.
I will then opt for a medium grey.

I also replaced the breakwater (I used paper coated with thin CA glue), as Trumpeter gave a somewhat vertical one with supports on the rear side, and real one had a forward leaning appearance, and support gussets (not placed for now) on the front side.

also note in the background, my "crude oil" tank for my own bodily boiler : a glass of carribean brown rum :cool_1: .
