Hi Guys,
Here are some pics of my FINISHED Dragon 1/700 DDG-22 Benjamin Stoddert. This model was built form the more modern DDG-21 Cochrane kit. Some studying, scratch-building and back-dating was necessary. This is an action scene depicting a, "gun run", during WestPac 1972. DDG-22 was hit by artilery from ashore, and the port side rear "2" of the large "22" was taken out. I decided not to "damage" the ship but have it evading incoming fire while dishing it out. No major dmage was the end result. SailorBill can tell you guys the rest of the story.
I finished the model, (but for weathering and rigging), just in time for the IPMS Nats, but only got back to her and finished her a few weeks ago. The weathering and rigging took about 10 hours. This model is DONE! My mother would be correcting me just now! "Finished, through...not done". Mothers.. :thumbs_up_1:

I recently started on my 1983 BB62/DDG-22 two ship display. This will be my Tamiyacon entry. This time DDG-22 will be sporting the re-arranged mast assembly, the SLQ-32's and platforms, SPQ-9 and some other differences form the way she was in 1972.
Thanks for letting me share, Tony Bunch
PS I just ordered my 1/96 DDG-24...22 hull from Scale Shipyard. I am going to build the Stoddert as she was in 1972...in 1/96 scale! Can you say, Fixate??Schweeeeeet :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Hi Guys,
Steve,
Great to hear from you. I hope all is well with you.
Guys,
I have been working on the "other" half of my Tamiyacon Project.
I spoke with Scale Shipyard today, and I will be collecting my 1/96 DDG hull/accessories/shaft kit on December 10th's Santee Lakes 1/96 scale "unfinished model", run. Right acrross the street!
Too Cool!
Take care Guys!
TonyB

:thumbs_up_1: Awesome job as usual. Good call on the Non-skid main deck and above. I could have save you research time on that one. But after seeing the work you did on the gun mounts I have a slight headache. Truely a master.

Michael

Shortly afterward, New Jersey headed to Lebanon with another Adams class DDG escort...the Roberson.

I sense another diorama coming along ;) Might be a good time to try your firing effect skills!

Hi Guys,
Timmy,
How many New Jersey's am I supposed to do?
These will be my last, "planned", 1/700 build(s) for a while.
These DDG's are very interesting to me indeed.
