I finnaly got Yorktown fitted out and ready for her Air Group. Now I just have to build her Air Group. This is the Trumpeter 1/700 scale kit out of the box except for the 20mm guns. I got those off of the DML Antietam and Bon Homme Richard since they do not use those for later periods and I like the way they look better than the Trumpeter ones. I used a straight edge and an X-Acto Blade to scribe the straight lines for the Dazzle Paint Scheme. I was pretty happy with those results. All in All the Trumpeter kit goes together pretty well and looks pretty good except for the seam across the flight deck where you join them together. It is pretty tough to sand out the seam without loosing the deck detail. I plan to cover it with a deck load of Hellcats, Corsairs, Helldivers and Avengers.
