Hello,

this is my USS CVA 9 Essex, the ISW kit. The kit shows the USS Essex as she looked after her SC 27a conversion at the Korean war.

Best regards

Chris

Hello,

thanks for your nice kind of words

The deck of the kit is a real wood deck from Nautilus. It is not included with the kit but Nautilus has a specific wood deck for the ISW SC 27a Essex.
Nautilus has also make the laser etched plastic deck.

Best regards

Chris

Chris,

I'd be interested to know what else you used for this build other than the wood deck.

For example, did you scratch build parts or remove kit parts?
Did you use pe parts other than what came with the kit?
What was your source of aircraft?

I really like your model and would be interested in doing something similar...or at least as close as I can since I'm sure my skills fall far short of yours.

Doc
