This was a fun little project!

This is the Iron Shipwrights' Resin 1/350 PBM-3 Mariner that came with the USS Mackinac AVP-13 Small Seaplane Tender kit. Jon also sells them separately and he has PBY Catalina's too.

I replaced some of the supports for the wing floats with brass rod otherwise it is out of the box, with the exception of the propellers. (there are no props in the kit)

Thanks to Jim Baumann for his fine examples of small scale flying boats and their water effects. I have used his water mist technique, here.

The water is Plastruct's "clear choppy water" plastic sheet that I spray painted the top of with Model Master Dark Sea Blue.

Hi NukeMM,

Cute little display and fun photography too. How big is the display?

Sometimes, it takes so much time to finish the little "big ships" that I've forgotten the fun of quick weekend projects.

:woo_hoo: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Very nice work Carl, I did something similar with the Emily flying boat that came with Hasegawa's Yukikaze.

Thank you, very much, Jim! I'm sure that your work has served as examples to follow for many other modelers, out there. Credit must go to where it is due.

Everybody...........be sure to check out Jim's flying boat models.
