I don't know if this is pointless and you already know it, but this gentleman on flickr has an amazing, extensive, highly detailed collection of RAN ships, both WWII and modern, with some extremely interesting photos of RAN cruisers:

Yes. this guy's contributions are brilliant, and the info contained within the description of the subjects demonstrate a high degree of devotion to a volunteer cause. Generally the group threads around naval WW1/WW2 contain many interesting and instructional subjects. Only problem i have found - getting enough browsing time!

No... you just never have the time to flow through 300 pages of RN and RAN photos, some good, some average, many outstanding.

The "googely moogely" expression though, is now part of my lexicon and made it all worth it:)
