Nice looking sub, but clearly not Polaris.

Actually, the missile looks rather much like a Regulus II, which would match with the 1959 date on the photo description. The sub is rather Soviet-esque, though, with the blended edges between the sail and the hull.

But as the description says, an artist's depiction of a new American SSGN makes sense.

That looks like the original design for the Permit class as SSGNs.

They were re-ordered as Thresher class SSNs after the Regulus program was cancelled

Same illustration is in the book.
