Could anyone who is more familiar with Royal Navy escort carriers' paint schemes please identify the colours in HMS Nabob's paint scheme pictured below? I did a search on this on older threads but couldn't find anything that referred to this ship in particular.

This was the paint scheme she wore during the Operation Goodwood III raids against the German battleship Tirpitz, in August 1944. In the bottom two pictures, she is down by the stern after suffering a torpedo hit from a U-boat. She was able to make it to port, but never returned to operational status.

The HMS Nabob was one of two RN escort carriers that were mainly crewed by Royal Canadian Navy personnel, although the ship's air complement were still from the RN Fleet Air Arm. I was just eyeing using Tamiya's Bogue kit for a possible conversion to Nabob, since the RN's Ruler class were essentially Bogue class CVEs.

Raven's RN camouflage volume three (page 13) shows port and starboard drawings of "Nabob as in 1944". The patterns match the photos you've posted.
"The colours are G10 and B55".
Don't ask about the flight deck

Thank you for the post.

Does that book show her sister HMS Puncher, another Canadian-manned RN CVE, as well?

Four or five others, besides Nabob, are shown. Unfortunately Puncher is not among them.

Wasn't Nabob an Ameer class ? They are supposed to be slightly different from the Attackers although I'm not sure to what extent and whether that would be visible from the outside. I should check one of my books on that.

NABOB was indeed an Ameer class ship (sometimes referred to as the Ruler class). External differences from the Attacker class included the aerial fit (Attackers had British RDF, whereas the later class had USN radar sets) and the medium AA (Ameers had eight twin 40mm mountings while most Attackers only carried four of these).
