Could anyone who is more familiar with Royal Navy escort carriers' paint schemes please identify the colours in HMS
Nabob's paint scheme pictured below? I did a search on this on older threads but couldn't find anything that referred to this ship in particular.
This was the paint scheme she wore during the Operation Goodwood III raids against the German battleship
Tirpitz, in August 1944. In the bottom two pictures, she is down by the stern after suffering a torpedo hit from a U-boat. She was able to make it to port, but never returned to operational status.
The HMS
Nabob was one of two RN escort carriers that were mainly crewed by Royal Canadian Navy personnel, although the ship's air complement were still from the RN Fleet Air Arm. I was just eyeing using Tamiya's
Bogue kit for a possible conversion to
Nabob, since the RN's
Ruler class were essentially
Bogue class CVEs.
