Hello firends! :wave_1:

I was trying to research exact components of major IJN grey colors. I'm sure there are cetain publications but I could not manage to find them. The one - looking really interesting - is here:
http://www.watakan.net/yamato/research/ ... eral1.html
Does anyone can help me with translation from Japanase ?

On the web page, section 2 contains the paint formulation component descriptions, and they're listed in order as on the chart, so Google translate should help greatly with that.

Do the colors on the chart indicate the actual colors used? ie; do the red portions indicate red used, and the blue portions, the amount of blue used, etc.?

rather no...
What I got from web translator is:

color of quadrat - translation
red - Bamboo flaxseed oil; oil No. 2 (????)
blue - white zink powder (makes sense)
yellow - Book E (Book of Eli , interesting ... )
braun - Turpentine Oil (????)
black - carbon black (makes sense)
dark blue - chalk (makes sense)
light blue - raw (????)

I'm confused ...

Skulski gives the standard formula, just not the variations. I think there is also a Model Art volume on paint and camouflage with the variations.
