The kit(s) instructions tell you to paint the bulkheads white and that is what I have always done but could they have been painted aluminum?

In Lisel A Rose's book "The Ship That Held the Line", Glen Dock commented on "Aluminum Silver" paint coming down from the overhead where mg bullets were punching
through the flight deck into the hangar deck during the "Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands".

B&W photos I've looked at are hard to discern whether they are white or aluminum.

We don't have an official directive located yet, but a lot of us are fairly convinced that hangar spaces on carriers and cruisers prior to the outbreak of war. Discussed in the Calling all CV-6 Enterprise Fans thread with photos for reference.
