I am looking forward to seeing the Hancock! :thumbs_up_1:

Soon John will have CVS-39, CVS-12 and CV-59 cruising in Formation. :woo_hoo:

I got the PE done on Kittyhawk and the deck is on. I will be working the Island today.

Tomcats, Prowlers, and the S-3s are built. Time to start building Hornets. My table is a strange looking aircraft factory with Helldivers, Hellcats, Avengers, Panthers, Banshees, Corsairs, SBC Helldivers,F-3F "Flying Barrels, and Sky Raiders all being built together. Maybe I will finish Kittyhawk with a Bi-Plane Airwing??

Here is what I have on the Kitty Hawk Island. I am attempting to rig a ship for the first time. I used the stretched sprue Technique. I am pretty happy with the results. I tihnk that I am going to have to go back and rig the rest of my carriers. That is only 19 Carriers and 5 Escorts. How long could that take? :doh_1:

The deck edge details are next. :faint:

If I can do it, you can do it! I have to agree with you there Nektarios. I think that it will be worth it. It kind of falls into that category of the airwing. Tons of tiny, tedious detail that pays in the end.The decals on my kitty hawk silvered up on me. :Mad_5: I thought that I had enough gloss coat and solve-a-set going, but apparently not.

Very frustrating. Any thoughts on how to fix that? I am thinking about hiding it with some black chalk weathering.

I am waiting for a GMM 1/700 Nimitz PE Set to do the correct size radar mast and radars to finish her up. I am going to use some scrap 1/720 PE sets to do the deck edge safety nets.

Have you sealed the decals in yet with dullcoat ?

If not, use your decal solution and get it so the decal moves, do certain decals at a time, lift and put a coat of clear on then lay decal on wet clear, or the other way is seal decals with dull or gloss coats, when dry mask and paint around decals.

John

Thanks Nektarios.

Yep, already dull coated. I think I came up with a solution. I gave it another heavy coat of gloss coat and I am going to give it another coat of dull coat and see how that does. I am a little worried about it cracking but I am using an acrylic gloss, so maybe it will do OK.

I am using the old navy adage that we all have done while serving in our respective navies. When it is wrong, Just Paint it!

Indeed Mark, we had another saying as well, if it dont move paint it, needless to say all the Goofers that used to come up from below got a coat of paint whilst leaning on railings or sitting on bollards

Anyways hope you sorted it :thumbs_up_1:
