Any Submarine that served any nation at any time . What if's are allowed

Rules for Builds:
You may choose to build any scale, kit, scratchbuild or kitbash, dioramas are allowed, however the focus should be the entered build. Only the ship built as an entry will be judged unless ship is alone in a seascape at which time total presentation will be taken into account. Super detailed or OOB, doesn't matter, just have fun and share!
I don't want to way this down with lot's of rules, just as one good pirate would say, "They're more like Guidelines" to keep everything neat and organized so we all can enjoy and have fun.
-Only one entry per builder
-Only builds from registered board members will be allowed
-Final judging is final
-All builds must be started on or after the start date and be completed by or on the end date to qualify for contest. All builds however that fall into the categories that have already been started or will not be completed till after due date are welcome however to share.
-Any questions or concerns with these rules may PM me
-Keep it friendly and fun!

This build will run from November 1st, 2011 thru December 25th, 2011

Updates:
10/27/2011- Prizes to be determined, stay tuned

I'll be building the Lionfish from the skywave Gato kit. I have a couple kits of it laying around and she's right here in battleship cove.

I might join in, I have a little 1/700 HB Type IXC U-boat begging to be built. I found a small display base too ($4 at Michael's) that should make for an interesting little dio. I currently have anther project underway (with the same deadline) right now so I need to see how it goes first. I'll decide in a week or so if I'll join in. Any ideas for a small u-boat dio gents?

I'm going the not-so-local (south) LHS next Saturday and if they have a sub model in stock, I'll get one and join in also.

Found it :thumbs_up_1:

I'll be doing the I-16 Tamiya 1/700
should be a laugh at least, putting it mildly IJN is not my strong point so if it comes out looking like a biogenics experiment don't laugh too much :heh:

I'll hop in on this, I'm going to do an Akula in either 350th or 700th, whichever my LHS has in stock. Seascape diorama with the ship emerging from ice. Should be cool, since I have stuff on hiatus I'll have time to focus on this build. Completely OOB other than the plaster for ice.

In! A group build that I can likely complete!

Considering:

One of the OKB modern subs in 1:700.

WWII-era Gato in Loose Cannon ARD drydock.

One of several Tamiya 1:350 IJN submarines whispering my name from the stash.

D-Boy

It's already long time since I was looking for a reason to start building the Typhoon class sub from Alanger kit. :eyebrows:

I'm with a 1/350 pr.941 SSBN (Alanger)

cb120, I've always wanted one of those, but never got one. I look forward to seeing yours built.

I've decided to start a second build after all. I'll be entering this. After the dremel got away from me on my larger one while trying to open up the holes, this is the only sub I have left. I'll also add a little Voyager PE. This will mainly be a painting experiment, even though it's almost too small for that.

Well, that was quick.
I've already lost 3 pieces to the carpet. :mad_2: So I'm out.
