I painted my San Francisco today, using humbrol enamels, 157 for the vertical surfaces and 77 for the decks.

Gtbred your Chicago is looking very nice, lots of detail and tiny fiddly bits on it... :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

I am almost done, all I have left is the rigging and painting details that are not dull coated, such as the searchlights... I went a little heavy on the weathering, so as to give an impression of the shapes and figure of the ship with various shades...

gtbred, Your USS Chicago looks great. All those little detail pieces make her stand out. Now, how about a couple of overall
shots of your build. I like the oveall looks of those ships. They look so top heavy.

Kometa, Your USS Pittsburgh looks great also. I like how you did your masts. Looking forward to her completion.

GTDEATH, Your USS San Francisco looks great also. I can tell you put a lot of work into her by your pictures. I know that
the parts fit was not all that great and yes, I have finished my USS San Francisco.

This Curiser GB alowed my to finish my Trumpeter USS San Francisco and now we need a BB build to give me an incentive to finish my Trumpeter USS North Carolina.

Thank you for your kind words.
Some difficulty mounting parts. Mast = needles 0,8 mm and brass.

I would not say what San Franciscol is best.
Good Job, Gordon and Gtbred

Gordon, also I have the USS North Carolina Trumpeter (1/700) waiting.

These cruisers are looking good, lots of detail! Congragulations on all your builds! :thumbs_up_1:

I'm still thinking of a People's Choice Contest on the finished builds in this thread. I'd post in the main forum a voting thread with one photo of your choice, and a link to this thread and a WIP thread if you made a separate one for your build. After a week we'd see who won, I'd hold my vote off and only cast it as a tie breaker if needed. I think I have a Griffon Model 1/144 U-Boat PE set I can offer as a prize, but I need to check. I'd only do this if there is enough interest from a majority of the participants. Post here if you are interested in participating. You must be finished by Sept. 30th and get me a photo of the model by then to post.

So here is the prize I'm offering. While the set is for a 1/144 Revell VII D U-boat it will cover a VII C as well since Griffon only added a additional fret of PE to the D package.

I'd like at least one more person to join in the People's Choice contest, two, I feel, just isn't enough. I also must ask that the winner pays for postage for the prize, sorry to be so frugal but money is a bit tight with me right now.
