Hello again all :wave_1: I took a few suggestions posted here by fellow modelers and added them to the project. A bit more white water and some "wet" areas. I have also finished some simple rigging, and added the boats number and name. Next I'll finish the base and make the plexiglass cover. Take a look..... More to come..... :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks for the replies. I have completed the base, made from Oak hardwood and Pine rope molding. Then stained and clearcoated. The plexiglass case will inset into this, coming next. A few photos here......

That is probably (certainly) the best large-scale water effect I've seen in my life. That bow wave is awesome!!! I'm completely stunned. :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:

awsome job, I have a gato revell kit and have thought about building it as a reference peice to my cruiser and future 1/72 projects. I like what you did to teh sides of the wood base, and the water detail is outstanding, I used to do waterline carriers like that when I was in the Navy bot they were small and I always wanted to do bigger stuff. It has taken me to the age of 48 to get off my rear and really get somthing going and the forum has kept me motivated. Anyway looking forward to your next build. Smooth sailing. Haratio.

Hello again all :wave_1: Well, another project completed. Here are some parting photos. I have fabricated the case or dustcover from 1/4" plexiglass, then wrapped it with oak outside corner moulding. I also added a couple of simple plaques on either side of the base. It's off to Tennessee Saturday for delivery. Another one leaves the shop! I found the project to be interesting and fun. I don't usually do subs, but now I like em! Thanks to all for the replies and comments, and Happy Indepenence Day! Stay tuned, more projects coming in the future........I continue on.............. :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:

A fine end to a fine build sir :thumbs_up_1:

Nice touch with the pine rope molding! I've seen the stuff plenty of times in the hardware store but never thought of using it on a case. It certainly lends some character to it. I'll have to keep it in mind when I build one.

What's next....hmmm....I got it! A 1/1 26' Motor Whaleboat made out of wood with only hand tools! Am I close?

Hello Dave, I took the display to Chatanooga, Tenn., where the new owner picked it up and went back to Indiana, his home base. Less travel for me, 16 hour ride, round trip. about 930 miles total. I stayed over night at a hotel and we talked shop and subs a had some dinner. An enjoyable time, albeit short. I always like to see customers faces when they see the "real thing" rather than photos. Faces tell alot.......Hope you are well....... :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Hi Bill, I don't visit the scratch build section to much, I just ran into your Capitaine build. I have not seen her since your last WIP photos you showed me awhile ago. The final outcome is beautiful and superb! The sub, the furniture base, the water is a work of art. You made it come alive in the ocean! Well Done! Mario
