Nice model, great sea!
Did this ship survive the war?

No, they were torpedoed in 1942. 9 lives lost, but the U-Boat surfaced and gave them extra supplies before leaving, so all the survivors in the boats were OK.

Thanks. I completed it on the 23rd June last and have not built anything since then. I have practically lost interest in building model ships :(

Terry,
I am still interested in the subject, and am enjoying following construction of the Bremen here on MWS. Sadly, there are no forums anywhere in the world that specialise in merchant ship models. I have never really understood why most ship modellers do not like building them, especially as they come in all sizes, shapes and colours. Collectors love them and that is my main problem. I am continually getting asked to take on private commissions or getting build suggestions. As I am now almost 71, I would really like to just have my hobby back without all the continuous pressure to take on work that in recent years became like a millstone round my neck!
I stopped accepting private commissions several years ago, but then I started getting "If you ever think of building...... - I will buy it!" These became private commissions by another name, and so it went on. Eventually, I got so many "suggestions" that it put me off building anything!
