AFAIK, the mounts were identical; as they originated as the main armament for the Mogami class CLs. Before being mounted on the Yamatos, they were subtle changes to the location and appearance of the rangefinders and their housings. These should be good to use.

I agree, though the resin versions from Shelf Oddities are pretty good as well.

Just found this manufacture, known as Chrysanthemum and Sword, not heard of them before.

I believe they are all cast resin pieces. For some reason, I think this maker may no longer be in business, but I could be wrong about that.

In 1/700, there are good styrene alternatives for several items from Yamashita Hobby and FineMolds, among others. Shelf Oddities, too, for resin equipment.

I'm not sure what that first set if fr. My first thought were the markings that go on the barrels of the larger AA mounts; my second was the warning stripes on flight decks, but I'm not sure of either possibility.

I think Rainbow's version of those auxiliary funnel pipe brackets to be smarter ad easier to handle. FWIW.

This is for the markings on the flight deck near the AA guns, like here on the Zuikaku:

Exactly the example I was thinking of. However, some representations include red striping as well as the white, so I'm not certain how to account for that addition. But, this probably correct.

Of course, you can use white decals for this, too,

If I have a wish regarding new ijn accessory sets, I miss a setwith the 6.5 and 7.5 motor boats which were found on DDs and smaller.
For the other boats there are sets available from 5Star and Rainbow for example. I know there is a neo set, but it is quite expensive and I don't like that they added holes for the davits.

Another thing as I'm building an Escort right now, 5Star make a set for the 12cm 10th year AA gun. But what about the dual montings?
Can I just glue two bases together? I haven't found pics of the dual mount yet.

Greetings Christian
