If you have one of the Revell 1/487 Yorktown class aircraft carrier kit you may want to check these out:
1/500 scale F4F-3 w/Gear x8 (FUD). These come 8 to set for 12.44 US.
Store site is at
https://www.shapeways.com/shops/snafuThey have the gear molded in and even the under wing oil coolers. The flying surfaces (wings, vertical and horizontal stabilizers) thin and petite, very comparable to resin and or injection molded kit aircraft.
When compared to an old WEM 1/500 resin cast F4F I have in the stash, the fuselage seemed to be the same length but the wingspan was 1 mm longer. The elevator span was 3 mm wider.
Here are the measurements I got with a digital caliper:
SNAFU F4F-3
Length 16.5 mm
Wingspan 23.5 mm
Horizontal Stab span 8.6
WEM F4F
Length 15.7 mm
Wingspan 22.5 mm
Horizontal Stab span 8.3
The measurements I calculated based on the following measurements for a full size F4F-3:
Length: 8.76 m
Wingspan: 11.58 m
in 1/487 scale was
Length: 18.0 mm
Wingspan: 23.8 mm.
So the overall length may be short but they still look great to me...
They also have some F4F-4s available as well. You get 8 Wildcats but 6 have folded wings and 2 have extended wings.
Also note: The sets are listed on their site under the 1/600 scale link but when you order there is a drop down box to let you specify 1/500 scale instead.
Here are some pictures as best I could.
