Superb, frighteningly superb; all the PE is here to take the simple Academy 1/700 Titanic and make it into as detailed a kit as any of the 1/350 or 1/400 super kits. There are 7 frets of brass, a name plate and a plastic rod to detail the mast. In the colour instructions blue is fill it in and red means remove; there is a lot of red. A lot of the original kit is cut away including anchors, chain, deck houses, compass platform, docking bridge, grand stair case and the entire bridge; all replaced with PE. Of course the Aztec stairs are gone but you get to place all the ornate windows as well. The solid piece lifeboats are to be cut apart and they become fully detailed with chocks and multipart davits. Not only are there deck benches but also individual deck chairs in 1/700 with exquisite detail.

Purchased from GlobalToy on eBay the parts took 20 days to travel from China to Canada, not bad at all. The shipment was sent Registered Mail for security. GolbalToy also asked if I understood it was PE only that was being purchased. A very considerate and professional firm to deal with.

Full points for product and service. This set is suitable for all Olympic class liners.

Cheers,
George

A thought just occurred to me. A wooden deck (Artwox in this case) is designed to fit on the plastic kit as built from the box. After making all the PE corrections/additions will the wooden deck still work? :wave_1:

Does anyone has an idea, if this set is also useful for Revells Titanic?
I've got the kit here and there's still a good PE-Set missing.

I used this set extensively for my 1/700 Vondel which can be found here http://shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewto ... 0&t=163755 . It is very useful for for any early 20th century liner build though for a post-1912 Olympic you will have to get two sets as you will run out of PE davits.
