By Richard A Landgraff.
I have been a longtime lurker on this forum and love reading everyone's posts! Finally created an account so I can post about this great book! While not full of flashy color photos, there are some awesome pics and diagrams from the authors own personal collection. Richard Landgraff has a fun writing style and storytelling that keeps you pulled in. He worked at the Long Beach Navy Yard for many years and has a unique perspective on its history. He is a frequent poster on the World Affairs Board in the Naval Wafare section, and I always love reading his posts! He has a humorous way of writing about all of his experiences. Of particular interest were his chapters on reactivating the Iowa Class Battleships, specifically the USS New Jersey. He has an insider perspective on all the troubleshooting and creativity that was necessary to get them back in service. I won't spoil any more for you, but I highly recommend this book! I found my copy on Amazon (it is the Revision B version)
