I am making progress on a Tamiya tirpitz with eduard Pe. Started on the various ships boats plus Pe.

Now the question, what's the best way to paint them? Was thinking of drilling a hole in the hull for a cocktail stick? Or is there a better way, please!

how are you going to paint it, by brush, air brush or rattle can? are the boats being glued to the deck or on boat stands & davits?

I tend to you double-sided tape to mount such items onto portwine- or sherry-corks, the one with a plastic cap. They stay upright in this way, when working on the interior. The tape I am using doesn't leave traces, so they can first be put down keel up to paint the exterior. The keel will not be visible when installed on board, so any damage to the paint there would not be visible.

Thank you both for replying. Planning to use a airbrush but might try the real colours marker pens too?

10 of the boats sit on cradles on top of the plane hangers, with 2 on davits.

Only problem I can see with using blue tac etc is the amount of PE, don't want the tac to possibly remove it! Have some boats to experiment with.

I did not talk about using 'Blue Tack'. I mentioned thin industrial double-sided adhesive tape, for instance: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224067637136

I don't think any PE-parts would touch the self-adhesive tape.

And yes, for certain details I use acrylic pigmented soft-tip art-pens.

My apologies Eberhard, I'll try that as part of my experiments

Thanks again
Bob
