1.350 Hiei (1940) from VeryFire / Beaver Corporation.
A 1.350 plastic Hiei will be most welcome. Considering her three sisters have already been done in plastic.
Now all we will need is a 1:350 Ise and Hyuga in 1930s-40s full battleship fit.

Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
There already are 1/350 models of Renown and Vanguard, though not in plastic.
I built Tamiya's KGV a few years ago and was surprised by the quality of the model even though it's decades old; albeit I would agree that some new tooling for the KGVs wouldn't hurt, particularly if they made something else than King George herself and Prince of Wales. Duke of York would be a nice pick to pair with a Scharnhorst.
Maybe they've changed their mind about what would be more profitable to market.

Cheers. I think I'll hold out for plastic ones. Not sure I fancy 3d prints on that scale.PHILIPPE wrote:Mr. Church wrote:

Would love to see a 1.350 plastic Vanguard with wood deck and photoetch details.Bob the Stug wrote:Very fire seem to have forgotten there plans to release KGV, Renown or Vanguard as announced a few yrs ago?
If the designers were clever they could have separately mounted barbecues. And then use the same kit to do a never completed Lion Class with nine 16 inch guns in three triple turrets. The Lions were never completed so it could be argued they would have been completed exactly as per Vanguard only with different main guns.
I am not really nterested in never completed ships myself, but it would seem to allow a manufacturer to kill two birds with one stone fairly easily in the case of Vanguard and Lion.

Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
Vanguard and the previous Lions have different hull lines, not to talk about different dimensions and superstructure layout. I see where you're coming from, and it would be appealing to do so, but there's just no common parts to be shared between the classes except the secondary battery, the AA and some miscellaneous items like fire control and boats.Mr. Church wrote:If the designers were clever they could have separately mounted barbecues. Did we previously note that Very Fire is doing the Shinano as well?

Sorry if I have missed this being mentioned before but it seems last month Flyhawk released an HMS Hood in 1940 fit.
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/flyhawk ... 0--1626517
A bit of a left field choice. I would have thought it wouldnt be that difficult to modify the 1941 kit to 1940 fit. Maybe one day they will release an earlier prerefit hood with 5.5" secondaries ideally say a 1938 fit.

Not likely to be difficult but Flyhawk do seem to take forever with some of their 1:700 projects.Gcj wrote:A bit of a left field choice. Hmmm....Sorry if I have missed this being mentioned before but it seems last month Flyhawk released an HMS Hood in 1940 fit.
It doesn't seem to have been released yet. Not on Ebay or Hobby Easy pre-order.
But July 3 was 85 years since Mers-el-Kebir....coincidence?
Nice box art though!
Hard a starboard.......Shoot!

Rather smart by flyhawk - looking at the listing it seems the difference between 1940 and 1941 - ships boats and mast details - are covered by 2 small 3d printed rafts the plastic and PE look unaltered.

It doesn't look like coincidence. The Hood in 1941 fit (FH1160) was released on May 24, 2021, and the history was explicitly mentioned in the announcement.PaulC wrote:Hmmm....Sorry if I have missed this being mentioned before but it seems last month Flyhawk released an HMS Hood in 1940 fit.

Ahhhh...it's my location. If I change my shipping from Jamaica to the USA, it comes up in the search results. The current sellers don't ship to Jamaica.PaulC wrote:Its on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/127194180798 ... p_homepage

If you're referring to the Aotori Bunka kit, it's the Very Fire Atlanta with new parts (and had been on Very Fire's release schedule for some time). You can see the instructions and sprues here: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/11201052Killerbeans wrote:Did anyone else see the cruiser San Diego release?

Trumpeter have the 1/700 CVF HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier listed for its 2025-09 release schedule.
Hopefully should be available by the end of the year.
