PC-487, Seed Hobby, 1/350

Post by Mick M »

Time for a new project, this time with guns and all  Kit is fully 3D printed. I'm going to depict it on a seascape, portraying events of 10th of June 1943.

First primer coats on the hull plus some other little bits:

I've finished with base colours on the hull. I'm moderatly satisfied with the result

While I had it done, I went on,  dug the seascape out of the box and put them together to see how does it come together:

Continued great work. I like the subtle oil canning effect on the hull.

Agree with Martin, that's some beautiful oil canning. Did you shoot through a mask for that, or is it done with pre-shading? Regardless, it works!

It's done with pre shading. Dirt and rust:

She looks great. What did you use to fill the gap between the hull and "water"? I always struggle with that. I feel like I get more on the hull and in the gap!

Thanks, I always glue them into the seascape with PVA. If the gap is very big I stuff it with cotton and PVA, if not, just PVA from 3/0 brush. Foam covers it up nicely
