Awesome, Dave! If I find one here on sale (It's not overly expensive, though), I'll be sure to pick one up :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks guys. The book is due out at the end of this month and it's very much a US/UK callaborative effort a sort of "special relationship" as us Brits call it , in book form.

Dave any chance you can tell us more?

Is it just RC models you go into detail on?

Cheers

In a nut shell the book is divided into three parts, The first chapter is devoted to the full size ship, from the building hall to launch with a large number of photos focusing on the development of the warship post war right up to the present day. However there are several "walk about/ photo files which have never seen the light of day until now .In fact 90% of the warship pictures in the first chapter are unique to this book. The second part deals with the "builders model" here again there are a large number of photos that are being seen for the first time and these include builders models from around the world. The final part of the book which happens to be over 50% of the contents is devoted to model workshop development and practice, interpretation of builder’s drawings, " plus model construction techniques for various types of warship models . To be fair there is a slight bias towards working models . Bob Sumrall has very kindly written the forward but our "inspiration " for the book was PC Cokers "Building Warship Models” and John Bowen's "Scale Model Warships" The presentation as outlined above is quite different to most books devoted to this subject but then it’s good to beak the mould and look at things afresh, in a different way and from a different perspective. Although both Bill Clarke and myself would have loved to expand the book to include yet more information but in the end space is a limiting factor, but there’s certainly room for a follow on .
